Rock Climbing / Rock adventure

Rock mountain adventures provide various adventure activities like climbing, Rappelling, etc and are based in the outskirt of Kalimpong / Darjeeling town and few other places in the hills. Rock climbing is an activity in which participants climb up, down or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls. The goal is to reach the summit or the endpoint of a pre-defined route without falling. To successfully complete a climb one must return to base safely. Due to the length and extended endurance required accidents are more likely to happen on the descent than ascent. All safety measures are taken into considerations so that climbing is treated as an entertainment rather than a competitive sport. We try to keep the spot a natural one and artificial rocks are not used in general. Rock climbing is a physically demanding sport, one that often tests a climber's strength, endurance, agility and balance along with other factors also. Over time, grading systems have also been created in order to more accurately compare the relative difficulties of climbs. Most of the climbing done in modern times is considered free climbing i.e. climbing using one's own physical strength, with equipment used solely as protection. Free climbing is typically divided into several styles that differ from one another depending on their belay, rope and anchor systems. The equipment used in rock climbing is mostly optional. Most climbers choose to wear specialized shoes that can feel the rock and use the tightness to their advantage. Most other equipment is of a protective nature.

It is near, just over twenty kilometres from Kalimpong. It is less than an hour’s drive from the town of Kalimpong. We provide a number of sports namely Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Zip Lining, Zumaring, Hiking & Archery. All of our activities are carried forward with the highest level of safety equipment and safety standards and regulations. Operating with 6 MTBs and 3 sets of rope equipment, RMA runs this operation at Pedong due to the natural infrastructure that it provides for such activities.

The operating base in the outskirt of Kalimpong consisting of two bases i.e. base 1 & base 2. Base 1 is very well connected and most of the equipment and services are kept on display there. Base 2 is for advanced rope activities and is in the forested area. There are other sites also nearby which can be used for rock adventure

Activities - Activity ranges from Angling, Paragliding, Cycling, etc. Right up there with the Himalayan weather, food, and campfires, the camping activities planned will make an event successful. Too much free time quickly turns to boredom, one need excitement, imagination and challenge to keep their trip interesting.

Some of these activities require a large outdoor area and others are meant for indoors due to unpredictable weather. From team building goals to just plain old fun, the dozens of choices we offer will help you plan your camping event.

Adventures activities based in Pudong, 21 Kilometers from the town of Kalimpong is one of the best places with required infrastructure. Base 1 is very well connected and most of the equipment and services are on display here. Base 2 is for advanced rope activities and is in the forest area.
