Day- 01
Arrival at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GUA) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) / Rupnath Brahma Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and Transfer to Pobitora - Assist on arrival at airport & transfer to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary – It is approximately 48 kilometres and time taken is nearly 01½ - 02 hours drive through Guwahati town - The park is approximately 40 square kilometres - Pobitora or Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve in the Morigaon district of the state of Assam in India - The drive through a road passing by River Brahmaputra, and a small portion of the village of Mayong - It covers flat flood plains and a hillock (Raja Mayong) - It is nestled in the grasslands which are the dwelling place of the Greater Indian One-Horned Rhinoceroses with its dense population - Besides rhinoceros, the other animals are leopard, wild boar, Barking deer, wild buffalo etc - It is also home to more than 2000 migratory birds and various reptiles - It is also an Important Bird Area - Places of interest are Haduk Hanging bridge and Garanga Beel pond - Elephant rides and jeep safaris are major activities - Check in at resort – The package is designed as an Assam Wildlife package tour - Evening free for own activities – Overnight stay in Pobitora surrounding [Brahmaputra Jungle Resort is always a good choice]
Day- 02
Pobitora Forest Activities & Transfer to Kaziranga National Park - Early morning elephant safari inside the Pobitora Wildlife sanctuary – Back to resort Hotel or Home stay for breakfast - After breakfast, proceed to Kaziranga National Park - It is approximately 250 kilometres and is 05 hours drive by road - Major cities near the park are Guwahati, Dimapur and Jorhat - Kaziranga National Park is a protected area and is situated in northeast Indian state of Assam – It spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants, etc – It has the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses - Ganges River dolphins swim in the park’s waters - It’s visited by many rare migratory birds, and gray pelicans roost near Kaziranga village - Kaziranga, the World Heritage Site is the oldest park in Assam & is a natural habitat for conservation of biologically diverse flora & fauna – Kaziranga has been identified by Birdlife International as an Important Bird Area - It shelter about 15 species of India’s threatened mammals - Observation towers are situated at Sohola, Mihimukh, Kathpara, Foliamari, and Harmoti for wildlife viewing - There are numerous other major wildlife fauna - Check in Hotel - Evening it is better to stroll just within the domain of Hotel resort or Home Stay - Overnight at Kaziranga
Day- 03
Kaziranga Forest Activities & Transfer to Nameri - Elephant safari will be early in the morning & after breakfast Jeep safari in Park - After lunch drive to foot-hill of Himalaya & the border of the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh Nameri (Bhalukpong) – It is approximately 90 kilometres and is nearly 02 ½ - 03 hours drive by road - Sparkling river Jia Bharali which passes through Bhalukpong is an adventure lover’s paradise - By the side of the river is the Nameri National Park which falls under Project Tiger - Nameri National Park is situated in the foothills of the eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam, India, nearly 35 kilometres from Tezpur - Nameri is about 09 kilometres from Chariduar, the nearest village - Nameri shares its northern boundary with the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh - Together they constitute an area of over 1000 square kilometres of which Nameri has a nearly 200 square kilometres - Vegetation is of semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests with cane and bamboo brakes and narrow strips of open grassland along rivers - Wildlife includes the Wild Elephant, tiger, leopard, sambar, dhole (the Asiatic wild dog), pygmy hog, Indian wild bison, clouded leopard, leopard cat, muntjac, gaur, wild boar, sloth bear, Himalayan black bear, capped langur and Indian giant squirrel, etc - Its a birdwatcher's paradise with over 300 species like the white winged wood duck, great pied hornbill, wreathed hornbill, rufous necked hornbill, black stork, ibisbill, blue-bearded bee-eaters, babblers, plovers and many - Overnight will be at Resort / Tourist Lodge at Nameri
Day- 04
Nameri to Guwahati via Orang National Park - We start the day with early morning elephant safari/trekking inside the Nameri National Park which is the home of the nearly extinct white Winged Wood-duck - Besides, the park abounds in elephants, leopards, sambar, barking deer, wild boar, gaur, wild dogs and a variety of birds including four species of hornbill - After breakfast, drive to Guwahati - It is approximately 250 kilometres and is nearly 05 - 06 hours drive - Guwahati is about 140 kilometres from the park and is nearly 110 kilometres from Kaziranga National Park - On the way we will visit Orang National Park - Orang National Park also known as Rajiv Gandhi Orang National Park which is located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River - The park has a rich flora and fauna, including great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, pygmy hog, elephants, wild buffalo and tigers - It is the only stronghold of rhinoceros on the north bank of the Brahmaputra river - The park has rich vegetation of forests, natural forest, non-aquatic grass/plants - October to April is the best season to visit the park - Check in at hotel - Evening free to stroll around or Optional Enjoy river cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra called the Brahmaputra Cruise (Cruise is subjected to Water condition + availability and on direct payment basis) - Next drive back to Hotel / Resort - Overnight stay at Guwahati
