Day - 01 - Arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) and transfer to Darjeeling - Arrival at guest will be received by our representative and will assist to transfer to Darjeeling - after nearly 01 hour one reaches Kurseong - At an altitude of 4860 feet Kurseong - The climb continues to Toong, Sonada and Ghoom, the highest rail road station in the world at 7400 feet and then descends to Darjeeling - Its 100 kilometers 2 ½ - 3 hours – Darjeeling - At an elevation of 2123 meters / 70001 feet, the land of breathtaking beauty, amidst rolling tea gardens, crowned by the majestic Himalayas popularly known as the Queen of the hills - Jewel in the crown of the Eastern Himalayas with mesmerizing beauty offers spectacular views of the Mount Everest, Mount Kanchendzonga and the rest of spectacular Himalayan range - Check in to hotel – Stroll to Mall / shrubbery Park - Over night stay at hotel in Darjeeling

 

Day - 02 - Darjeeling Sightseeing - Early in the morning excursion to Tiger Hill - On the way back visit Yiga Choling Monastery at Ghoom - The monastery houses the statue of Maitrya Buddha - Next visit Padmaja Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Tibetan Welfare Centre - Evening free to visit the Chowrasta Mall - Mount Kanchanjunga sparks brilliantly as the first rays of sun -Yiga Choling Monastery (Ghoom Monastery) is located in Ghoom near Darjeeling town - The Yiga-Choeling monastery belongs to the yellow Sect of Buddhists who worships a 15 feet statue of the Maitreya, built in 1875 by Lama Sherab Gyamtso - Tibetan Welfare Centre - The Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre was started on October 2, 1959, following the escape of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, thousands of Tibetans fled into the neighboring countries - Evening free to stroll around Chowrastaor the Mall Road - Over night stay at hotel in Darjeeling

 

Day - 03 - Darjeeling to Pelling Transfer - After breakfast drive about 5 hours to Pelling - Proceed to Pelling - A drive of nearly 130 kilometers – 4 ½ - 5 hours drive - Pelling is situated at an altitude of 2072 meters / 6800 feet with spectacular and close-up views of Mt Khangchendzonga - On a clear day guest can get a clear view of Himalayan range with snow capped mount Pandim, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Khangchendzonga, Zopuno, Shimbho, Narsing, Sinolchu etc - It is one of the exotic settlement with varieties of Rhododendron, Orchids, historical sites, short trek routes and wildlife - Check into Hotel - Two wonderful monasteries of Pemayangtse and Sangacholing stand at the opposite ends of the town - Next one can stroll to Pemayangtse monastery - It is the oldest monastery here and houses priceless thankas, icons, Buddhist texts, paintings and frescos. Day - 04 - Yuksom Excursion - Today after breakfast, you will have about 2½ hours drive to Yuksom - En rout visit Khechophalri Lake and check in to the hotel - Later visit to Dubdi Monastery - Yuksom - Yuksom / Yuksam is nearly 42 kilometers from Pemayangtse at the altitude of 1780 meters - The hamlet of Yuksom is set amidst pristine hills and lakes, where according to the historical records and it was here in 1641 AD the first Chogyal (King) Phuntsok Namgyal of Sikkim was consecrated by the three wise lamas - Yuksam literally means the meeting place of the three learned monks - This was the first capital of Sikkim - The Norbugang Chorten and the Coronation throne are the silent witnesses to the event of 1641 - While returning visit Khecheopalri a small tranquil Lake, surrounded by prayers flags and forested hill - It is a serene place and revered by Sikkimese Buddhists - According to the legend, birds remove any leaves that fall onto the lake’s surface and hence the lake remains clean - There is a small Lepcha community near the lake and also a tourists hut - Over night stay at hotel in Pelling

 

Day - 05 - Visit to Tashiding Monastery & Transfer to Namchi - Early morning breakfast - Drive about 3 ½ hours to Rabangla, en route visit Tashiding Monastery - Tashiding is a tiny village is home to Tashiding Gompa monastery, founded in 1641 Ngadak Sempa Chempo, one of the three lamas who performed the consecration ceremony of the first Chogyal or the king of Sikkim - The main monastery is perched majestically atop a heart shaped hill, accessed by walking steep uphill - The monastery is said to have been constructed on the site blessed and mediated by Guru Padmasambha in 8th century- Behind the monastery, there are dozens of chortens (stupa), including the Thong-Wa-rang-Dol literally meaning wash away the sins by mere sight - The Bumchu festival, one of the most important traditional Sikkimese festival is held here is held here in on 14th and 15th day of the first lunar month (usually in February or early March) - Views of Ralang, Tashiding, Pemayangtse and Sangacholing monasteries, against the back-drop of snowcapped peaks is spectacular - Evening free to stroll around the area - Overnight at Rabangla or Namchi

 

Day - 06 - Transfer from Rabangla to Gangtok via Ralang Monastery - Today after visit to Ralang Gompa later drive about 3 hours to Gangtok - Ralang Gompa / monastery is situated in the southern part of Sikkim - It lies at a distance of approximately 6 kilometers from Ravangla - It is believed that after the fourth Chogyal came back from his pilgrimage, the Karmapa performed the Rabney (blessing) - As per the ceremony, he threw grains from the Tsurphu Monastery in Tibet (the main seat of Karmapa) - The ground where the grains fell, eventually, became the site for the Ralang Monastery - The monastery belongs to the Kagyupa order - Transfer to Gangtok - It is a perfect destination for tourist in search of enchantment, tranquility, trekking or any other adventure - Land of monastery, mystic rituals / festivals at an elevation of 1,437 meters / 4,715 feet is the most often visited spot of India for its rare Orchids and Butterflies - Check into Hotel - Evening free to stroll to M.G. Marg or Local Market - Night stay at Gangtok

 

Day - 07 - Gangtok Sightseeing - Start the day with Rumtek Monastery - Rumtek is one of the largest in Sikkim - Rumtek was at the center of the Karmapa controversy with a lengthy battle being played out in the Indian courts -Home to the community of monks that practice Karma Kagyu lineage - The original building was first built by 9th Karmapa in 16th century - It was later reconstructed by the 16th Karmapa and inaugurated in 1966 - The sacred items and relics were brought from Tsurphu, Karmapa's seat in Tibet, and installed here - A Golden Stupa contains the relics of the 16th Karmapa - Opposite that building is a college for Higher Buddhist Studies - Next to Institute of Tibetology which has a collection of rare Buddhist manuscripts and artifacts from Tibet, Dodrul Chorten, Tsuklakhang (Royal Chapel) & Enchey Monastery - One can also visit Institute of Tibetology - This internationally acclaimed center of Tibetan Studies & Research houses a vast collection of rare Buddhist books, manuscripts and Buddhist icons - Evening free to stroll to M.G. Marg or Local Market - Night stay at Gangtok

 

Day – 08 – Departure Transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) – Early morning breakfast - Next drive to Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) - The distance is approximately 130 kilometers and is 4 - 4 ½ hour’s drive by car - The drive will be along the River Teesta and the view is scenic - With one can stop at Rangpo or Chitrey for refreshment / Tea - Next stop at Coronation bridge if time permits - Next drive to Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) – Guest are advised to start early and not to rush - Forwarding Journey
