Day- 01
Arrival at Pakyong Airport (PYG) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri and Transfer to Kalimpong - You will be received by our official at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) – He will assist you for the forwarding journey to Kalimpong - From Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) the drive is approximately 95 Kilometers and is nearly 03 - 03½ hours drive by road – If picked from Pakyong Airport (PYG) the distance is 60 Kilometers and nearly 02 - 2½ hours drive by road - Kalimpong - Kalimpong is a peaceful hill station in the Indian state of West Bengal - Kalimpong is perched on a ridge above the Teesta River, it’s home to colonial-era buildings like MacFarlane Memorial Church, named after a Scottish missionary - South, the hilltop Durpin Monastery, or Zang Dhok Palri Phodang, contains sacred Buddhist scriptures – It is located at an average elevation of 1250 metres i.e. 4101 feet - The town is the headquarters of the Kalimpong district - The town centre is on a ridge connecting two hills, Deolo Hill and Durpin Hill - Until the mid-19th century, the area around Kalimpong was ruled in succession by the Sikkimese and Bhutanese kingdoms - In the evening one is free to stroll around local Market - Back to Hotel / Resort - Over night stay at kalimpong
Day- 02
Sightseeing in Kalimpong - Morning breakfast in hotel – The Town is perched on a ridge above the Teesta River, it’s home to colonial-era buildings like MacFarlane Memorial Church, named after a Scottish missionary - South, the hilltop Durpin Monastery, or Zang Dhok Palri Phodang, contains sacred Buddhist scriptures - Drive for sight seeing - Kalimpong situated on the foothills of the Himalayas is a green destination at an altitude of 1243 meters / 4078 feet - It is a historical destinations with bustling market, colorful people and offers spectacular views of the Himalayan range - The scenic beauty on the way are beautiful and there are lot of shops selling antics and local handicraft worth buying – Drive for sightseeing tour through scenic road to Forest Museum (Closed On Thursday), Deolo / Dello Hill, Hanuman Mandir, Dr Graham Homes, Durbin Monastery, Mangaldham, Pine View or Simlar Nursery (Attractions are Cactus & Orchids) – Kalimpong sightseeing is for 03 - 04 hours - Back to Kalimpong Hotel – Evening free to roam around the any of the hundred nurseries or the Local market area which is vibrant – One can try local Vegetable Dumplings called Momo - Overnight stay at Kalimpong
Day- 03
Deollo sightseeing & Transfer to Gangtok - Early morning have breakfast and drive to Gangtok – There is an option of visiting Rumtek Monastery – Guests can add this visit in their Itinerary well before the package is finalized – Next drive to Kalimpong - It is approximately 85 kilometers and nearly 03 - 03½ hours drive by road – Forwarding journey to Gangtok – Gangtok became the capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975 - Land of monastery and with mystic rituals/festivals is situated at an elevation of 1,437 meters i.e. 4,715 feet is the most often visited spot of India for its rare Orchids and Butterflies - Gangtok, the exotic capital city of Sikkim, is a Buddhist haven - In sync with the Zen philosophy that divinity can only make its way through clear and clean surroundings, Gangtok is an epitome of neatness and is one of the few such places in India - The stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped Mount Kanchenjunga, only add to the Gangokian environs - The rest of the day is free - Evening one is free to stroll around M G Road or the Local Market - Over night stay at Gangtok
Day- 04
Transfer to Lachen - Early morning breakfast – Drive is approximately 130 kilometers and nearly 05 – 06 hours drive - Chungthang is 96 kilometers from Gangtok – Lunch at Chungthang – Lachen is 35 kilometers from Chungthang Reach Lachen late afternoon / early evening - Lachen is a town in North Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim - It is located at an elevation of 2,750 meters - The name Lachen means "big pass". The town is being promoted as a tourist destination by the Sikkimese government. The town forms the base to the Chopta Valley and Gurudongmar Lake - The snow-capped peaks, the Shingbha wildlife sanctuary, Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley, Thangu are the major attraction – It’s a valley surrounded by gigantic and humbling snow peak mountains and the starting point of Green Lake Trek – In fact the village cradled between stern, tall rock faces standing like guards – A hamlet with very few people – It almost like this town is hidden from the outside – Like a Shangri - La – Check into a hotel - Welcome Tea – Evening free to stroll and visit the Lepcha Village – Overnight stay at Hotel in Lachen
Day- 05
Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake and Transfer to Lachung - Early morning breakfast – Visit to Gurudongmar Lake – It is approximately 75 kilometers and is nearly 04 - 04½ hour’s drive by road – Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world and in India, located at an altitude of 17,800 feet / 5,430 meters – The road passes through Chopta Valley and Thangu - It is considered sacred by Buddhists, Sikhs and Hindus - The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, founder of Tibetan Buddhism, the lake was blessed in the 15th century by Guru Nanak – Next Transfer back to Hotel for Lunch – Post Lunch transfer to Lachung – Nearly 50 kilometers and nearly 02 hours’ drive - Lachung is a valley at an altitude of 11, 800 feet through which Lachen Chu flows, generally covered with snow from December to April - Check into hotel at Lachung - Evening free to visit Lachung Monastery - Overnight stay at Hotel at Lachung
Day- 06
Sightseeing at Yumthang and transfer to Gangtok - Early morning breakfast – After breakfast drive towards Yumthang situated at an elevation of nearly 11800 feet – It is approximately 26 kilometers and is nearly 01½ hour’s drive - On the way back one can visit the famous hot spring which is known for its curative properties of skin diseases - Yumthang is a valley near the river Lachung Chu surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends - In spring the valley erupts in riots of colors as Primulae, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers in full bloom along with snow covered valley except in autumn - During winter Yumthang is somber with snow all around and the snow clad mountains adding to the beauty - Yumesamdong (Zero Point) is optional tour - Return to Lachung for lunch - After lunch drive to Gangtok – It is approximately 130 kilometers and is nearly 05 to 06 hours drive by rough road – Reach Gangtok & Check into hotel - Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center - Over Night stay at Gangtok
