Best Time End Of October to Mid March [Moderate Trek Route]

Day – 01 – Arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri and transfer to Raimatang – Raimatang is a small forest village on the fringes of the Buxa Tiger Reserve surrounded by towering lush hills of Bhutan – Its beauty lies in its mix of forests, hills, rivers and tea gardens – Moreover, it is on the western side of Sinchula hills that adds to its solitude – Surrounded with the hills of Bhutan, Raimatang is a complete beauty with forests, hills, tea gardens, and river. The solitude prevailing calms the tired, excited state within oneself – This makes it a perfect getaway for people who love nature & wildlife – Night stay in a Trekkers’ Hut

Day – 02 – Trek to Aadma via Pokhri Goth (the temporary shelter of Dukpas) through the dense forest of Buxa Tiger Reserve -This route can be reached trekking through the roads of Aadma with a distance of around 20 kilometres – Trekkers can stay overnight at this place with the recently built eco-resorts – There are homestays at this location and trekkers can spend their nights on any of the homestays – Aadma sharing its boundaries with Bhutan, belongs to the Drukpa Community, living in the tough Tribal situations – The travellers willing to experience the tribal culture and lifestyle must spend a night at this place – Night stay in Tents

Day – 03 – After breakfast trek to Tashigang via Chunabhati (Visit the first Drukpa Kagyu Goempa of Dooars & Age-old Finnish Church), Lal Bungalow (relics of British 1st Commandant’s Bungalow) with packed lunch, trek to Chhukodin for Bird watching, back – Tashi Gaon: A trekking route of near about 06 kilometers from Lepchakha high above the village lies the small, serene village of Tashi Gaon – The village with the least population, boasts for its peace and calmness, which we are devoid in our present life conditions. The village will arrest one completely into its calmness bound location – Night stay at Tashigang in Tents

Day – 04 – After breakfast trek to Rupang Valley via Rovers’ Point (named after Rovers’ & Mountaineers Club) through the virgin forest of Buxa Tiger Reserve with packed lunch – Roopam Valley: Another outstanding location is this Roopam Valley at the Bhutan border – The trekking distance from the Buxa to this place is almost 17 kilometres – And travellers are welcomed with the exotic birds around – The mesmerizing beauty of the hills and the forests will keep one attracted to the location – Night stay at Oumchupani ground in Tents

Day – 05 – Early morning trek to Pam Tsey La with packed breakfast – Back and trek down to Buxaduar – Buxaduar, cradled in the Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal, offers an opportunity to peek into the mysteries of the wild jungles of the Buxa Tiger Reserve – It is a densely forested reserve boasting of being the only tiger reserve in the entire Kanchenjunga circuit – Buxa Fort is located at an altitude of 867 meters / 2,844 feet in the foothills of the Himalayan range – It is located 30 kilometres / 19 miles from Alipurduar, the nearest town – Night stay in Dukpas Hut

Day – 06 – After Breakfast visit Heritage Buxa Fort, Post Office, and Museum – It is the witness to the armed revolution that swept Bengal – It holds the secrets of a chequered history behind the grand walls, bearing testimony to the pain and suffering of many a freedom fighter and the daring escape staged by a handful – Perched atop the craggy Sinchula hills, the heritage in stone, Buxa Fort lies in shambles, a victim of decades of neglect and assault of weather and vandalism – After lunch trek to Lepchakha – Night stay in a Trekkers’ Hut, have a test of Dukpa Cousin

Day – 07 – Trek down to Dobana (junction of the River Katlumng & River Sanchi Phu) with packed breakfast – Trek to Jainty Mahakal (Stalactite Cave), after lunch trek down to Jainty – Jayanti is a village in the Kumargram CD block in the Alipurduar subdivision of the Alipurduar – It is an undulating destination, largely forested, with numerous rivers flowing down from the outer ranges of the Himalayas in Bhutan – A 13 kilometre from Buxaduar to Jayanti passes through the dense forest of the Buxa Tiger Reserve – Jayanti also features a stalactite cave known as the Mahakal cave- Night stay in Jayanti

Day – 08 – After breakfast safari in Jainty National Park, after lunch move to the Rajabhatkhawa – Rajabhatkhawa is a small settlement situated just outside the Buxa Tiger Reserve – It is known for its natural environment – All the permits for the entry to the Buxa Tiger reserve can be taken from here – The name of the place literally means “(the place) where the king had a meal” – The folklore is that the kings of the princely state Koch Bihar used to come here for having a picnic in the forests – Campfire and rest for the day – Night stay at Rajabhatkhawa

Day – 09 – Departure transfer to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) Or Alipurduar Junction Railway Station (APDJ) – Drive through Madarihat, Hashimara, Chalsa, Malbazaar – The drive is nearly 05½ – 06 hours over a distance of approximately 175 kilometres Via Malbazaar & Chalsa via Sevoke Coronation Bridge / Sevoke Kali Mandir – One can stop will be provided at Coronation Bridge for photography and scenic beauty if time permits – The traffic will be more hence one has to start early – Reach Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) – Forwarding Journey
